This groundbreaking legislation compels organizations to step back and critically evaluate the risks associated with AI systems in their applications. As industries increasingly integrate AI into their development processes, a key question arises: how can companies ensure the quality and reliability of AI systems? In response to this challenge, ISO/IEC 42001 was introduced in late 2023 as a standardized framework for AI management system. Building on established quality management standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 42001 provides guidance for managing data, mitigating ethical risks, and preventing unintended consequences that could impact businesses and stakeholders. It also aligns many of the objectives required by the EU AI Act for high-risk AI systems. He is the leader of the strategy and solutions architects as well as the president of the delivery consulting organization. Steve has over 25 years of Functional Safety experience before joining LHP. Steve has launched multiple start-up operations and has taken them to full production. Notably, a complete ground-up electronics and software development group to service commercial aerospace electronics and military vehicle power electronics. Jody began his career at Daimler AG, where he worked in high voltage safety, EMC, software development, and functional safety. In 2010, he co-founded the successful functional safety and autonomy safety consulting company, kVA. At kVA, Jody had the pleasure of working with and training hundreds of OEM, supplier, and semiconductor customers. In 2019, kVA was acquired by UL Solutions, where Jody became the managing director of the global assessment and certification team in functional safety, cybersecurity, and autonomy safety.
