Overview: Training For Embedded Software & Systems Engineers

Rapid advancements in autonomous and clean energy technologies, as well as ever-changing design and development standards, have heightened the criticality of in-depth, hands-on technical training for embedded software and systems engineers.

Today's engineering leadership is working to expand and strengthen their teams’ domain expertise and to develop a workforce ready for the future of transportation technology, while seasoned engineers are sharpening their skills to evolve with the industry.

Additionally, there are sizable gaps in today’s embedded controls talent pool, amplifying the impact of turnover. Frustrated leaders are strategizing new ways to ramp up teams quickly and effectively.

LHP has you covered. We’ve called the embedded industry home for almost 25 years, and our instructors are the same engineering leaders who help LHP customers solve complex technology challenges in the field, bringing real-world experience to the classroom.

Standards and Regulations Training

Today's transportation systems comprise hundreds of controllers containing millions of lines of code, developed by many different suppliers across the supply chain and integrated into a vehicle. The complexity of developing these systems is immense. OEM's and suppliers use many different internationally recognized standards to ensure safety and quality throughout the concept, design, implementation, and even production phases of development.

LHP offers training for all levels of stakeholders, from executives to engineers, to ensure your teams have a deep understanding of industry best practices and their impacts on the business. The certifications, offered through our industry-trusted partners, for personnel, products, and processes, demonstrate excellence to suppliers and customers alike.

ISO 26262 FSCAE Training & Certification via TÜV NORD

LHP and TÜV NORD have partnered to offer ISO 26262 FSCAE training and certification under TÜV NORD's market-leading “Functional Safety Certified Automotive Engineer” (FSCAE) program.  TÜV NORD is an internationally recognized and certified organization with experienced professionals who have many years of practical knowledge in functional safety and the relevant standards.

ISO 26262 Training (Power Up)

The ISO 26262 training from LHP covers the entire lifecycle, from conception to production. Functional safety features are clearly defined for automotive electronic systems for on-highway vehicles. New and existing products must follow safety measures to avoid, detect, and control system failures. Under the guidance of two senior-level ISO 26262-experienced instructors, your engineers will be exposed to a better understanding of the ISO 26262 implementation process. Get a head start on implementing ISO 26262 requirements by upgrading Day 2 into a custom workshop tailored to a specific product from your organization.

ASPICE Training

As ASPICE gains popularity in the automotive industry, professionals face growing challenges in merging and aligning processes across multiple frameworks. This ASPICE training course addresses those challenges by equipping participants with the skills to correctly read and apply ASPICE 4.0, while building a complete understanding of its key concepts, structure, and vocabulary. Learners will gain practical knowledge of capability levels and customer assessments through concrete examples, and will explore how to integrate ASPICE with existing quality management systems and complementary standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21448, leaving with the tools needed to immediately structure and launch an effective process improvement program.

ISO 21434 CSCAE Training & Certification via TÜV NORD

This ISO 21434 CSCAE training and certification course explores Security by Design through the lens of ISO/SAE 21434, covering cybersecurity governance, general concepts, and risk evaluation. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of UN ECE objectives and the requirements for overall cybersecurity management, including implementation examples, organizational responsibilities, and the definition of a Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) in engineering,  all in accordance with ISO/SAE 21434 and other applicable standards within embedded and software engineering contexts. To get the most out of this course, participants should have a solid understanding of embedded systems and their communication protocols (such as CAN), as well as hands-on experience with RTOSes and mission-critical systems. Familiarity with modern engineering standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ASPICE, or CMMI is expected, as is a general understanding of embedded systems testing. A background in STEM or equivalent engineering expertise in embedded electronic systems is also required.

Cybersecurity Training

This ISO 21434 training explores how to protect modern vehicles,  from conception to production, against criminal and unauthorized attacks on the electronic data and systems that power them. Participants will gain a clear understanding of cybersecurity's role in the automotive industry, learning how to articulate the purpose of ISO/SAE 21434 and compare relevant standards from organizations such as NIST, ISO, DIN, ANSI, and IEC. The course covers overall cybersecurity management, including governance, culture, tools, and audits, as well as project-level management activities. Participants will work through a hands-on Threat Assessment and Remediation Analysis (TARA) case study and develop the skills needed to monitor, evaluate, and manage vulnerabilities,  while learning how to effectively distribute cybersecurity responsibilities across their organization and supply chain.
