Faisal Uppal is a seasoned Systems & Controls Leader with over 22 years of extensive experience in Systems Engineering, Controls, Simulation, and Automotive Testing across various domains including EV, Hybrid, ADAS/AD, and Conventional Powertrain systems. His expertise spans Passenger Cars, Off-Highway Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, and Motorsport applications. As a technical team and program leader, Faisal has a proven track record of leading high-performance teams to deliver effective solutions for both production and prototype applications. His key skills include management of engineering resources, business development, sales support, and department strategy development. Faisal is proficient in Controls and Software development with a holistic approach, utilizing both Physics Model-Based and Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches. He possesses in-depth knowledge of controls for vehicle subsystems such as engine, transmission, traction motors, inverters, DC/DC converters, power/energy management, fuel cells, and advanced batteries. With a strong background in Systems Engineering, Faisal excels in requirements and architecture development, as well as functional safety (ISO 26262) standards. He has extensive experience in AUTOSAR, software re-architecture, and migration for large-scale production projects, along with Agile Software Development methodologies. Faisal's expertise extends to adaptive and integrated solutions for model-based engineering, utilizing continuous verification through MIL/SIL/HIL testing. He is well-versed in industry-standard ALM tools, CMMI/ASPICE processes, and possesses multiple certifications in Technical Leadership, Project Management, Control Systems Design, Functional Safety, and AUTOSAR.
